Handmade plaster cast bust of Padraig Pearse
The name of Pádraig Pearse is indelibly linked with the Easter Rising of 1916 and the fight for Irish freedom from British rule.

This learned man, teacher, barrister, poet and writer was one of the signatories of the Proclamation who were shot at Kilmainham Gaol after the failed rising.

Object featured around the base. Pearse talking to a crowd in front of the General Post Office, Nelson's Pillar, the Irish Proclamation being nailed to a door, a revolver, an Irish harp and Éamon de Valera after his surrender.

The etch around the base reads:
“THE FOOLS, THE FOOLS, THE FOOLS”
